Before You Even Pick Up The Phone To Call or Message Us, Take The Time To Read Questions You May Have About Booking A Catering
How much notice do you need to book my catering?
-For Event Delivery/Private Chef & Residential Catering, we ask for at least a week notice. However, please feel free to text/call us at #8083918186 for last minute orders. We’ll do what we can to take care of you.
-For On-Site Event Catering, we recommend you book as far in advance as possible to ensure your date is reserved on our calendar. But feel free to call us for short notice events. If we have an opening, we are more than happy to work with you.
What levels of service do you offer?
We currently offer a multitude of services with full descriptions on our website:
-Private Chef Dinners & Residential Catering:
Chef Ed will design a restaurant quality menu that suits your needs for your event whether it be a casual cocktail reception, intimate buffet, home cooked family style meal, or upscale plated dinner.
-On Site Event Catering:
Your food will be prepared on site if certain requirements are met, and Chefs & Waiters are added along with anything else that is needed to execute the event. We offer a variety of options for this service consisting of buffet service, chef action stations, appetizer service, and plated dinner service.
-Upscale Catering Event Delivery-With or Without Food Attendants:
Your food is prepared off site and delivered to your party location, residence, office, beach, or wherever you might happen to need us. We don’t just deliver the food, we’ll come and set up your food displayed nicely with upscale disposable chafers, platters, plates, utensils, and menu item cards whenever it is applicable. Served in disposable aluminum pans and trays; perfect for leftovers and easy clean up.
Do you have any minimums for catering?
Yes, there is a $600 catering minimum for all events pending location
Is Delivery Available?
Yes. We currently offer delivery to the entire island of Oahu. It starts at $75 but Delivery charges are based on distance from Central Oahu. Please text/call #8083918186 for specifics.
What is your cancellation policy?
For all catering event orders, we require 72 hours, as we have scheduled staff and blocked off our catering calendar.
You may reschedule event at no extra charge pending our availability of new date or be issued a refund of any payments minus the 25% non-refundable booking fee. You do not lose the 25% booking fee; it converts into company credit which does not expire and is transferable upon notification with us.
What methods of payment do you accept?
We accept Cash, Check, Debit/Credit Card (w/ Square+3.5% Processing Fee), and Venmo (@kuohaculinary)
Can You Make Accommodations for Special Diets?
Absolutely! We offer vegetarian and gluten free options, along with anything else that may be requested, we will do our best to accommodate.
I only need some items to be catered, do I have to purchase one of your buffets?
Absolutely not if the $600 catering minimum is met. We offer all our catering specialties as a la carte catering items as well, order exactly what you need
Why is the wait time for new inquiry event proposals 3-6 weeks?
Chef Ed personally handles everything for Kuoha Culinary to ensure the food quality and client service standards he set are maintained. The downside to this is with the continued success and influx of more clients annually it is difficult to send out proposals in a timely manner while handling weekly catering events.
Chef Ed truly wants to cook for clients that really want him to be their caterer, most times clients are fine with the wait as they know that they can secure him for their event regardless of wait time and reach out as needed with questions.
If I needed to speak to someone directly for any other questions, would that be an issue?
Not at all, Chef Ed gives all his clients access to him directly and he would be the only one you deal with during the
entire process which minimizes a lot of back and forth. You can schedule a call with him if needed by
